Just a few Words…

FourAfter is composed by the following: Michelle Silva (Vocals), Tino Jorge (Drums), Burt Fernandes (Bass Guitar), Frank (Lead Guitar), Sergio Rocha (Rhythm Guitar) and Joel Ananias (Piano & Hammond). The FourAfter story starts with Tino Jorge, Sergio and Burt arriving in the United States seeking a better life. While back in Portugal they had gained various musical experiences and it wasn..t long before the music bug motivated them to get involved in the local Portuguese music scene joining various local bands and playing in the tri-state area as well as in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. During this time Michelle and Joel were also playing in local bands while Frank was making his way through the bar circuit in New Jersey and New York. They were all on different paths honing their individual talents waiting for those paths to intersect. And like most things in life a string of chance encounters led to the band forming. It began with Burt being so intrigued by the sound he heard on several occasions from a guitarist and drummer playing at a favorite night spot that he picked up his bass and asked to jam with them. That same night they played into the early hours of the morning. Burt had just met Sergio and Joao Mario! After that jam session Burt and Sergio kept in contact over the next few years. And when Sergio approached Burt with a few songs that he had written and told him he was looking for a couple of more musicians, Burt told him of a drummer and pianist whom he was currently playing with. Once Sergio began playing with Burt, Tino Jorge and Joel he knew they were onto something special. They recorded two songs ..Magia.. and ..Até Logo.. and after various television appearances and the video for ..Magia.. being released they continued to play together and write new music. It was during this time that a video of Michelle performing fell into Sergio..s lap through a mutual acquaintance. At once he knew that her voice would take the band to another level. Once she joined the band they recorded ..Sip & A Kiss.., ..Madrugadas Frias.. and ..The Other Side... The band was finally well on its way to finding its musical identity, an identity that was finalized shortly after with the arrival of Frank. His high energy guitar riffs infused the music that was being created and finalized the FourAfter sound. ...o som que traz um pouco de inovacao em cada novo tema, como agora em Minute without you ou Must believe. E um novo dia, cheio de situacoes caricatas, na aposta de definir uma certeza que ha muita se vinha a sentir... FourAfter com alma de poeta silencioso, com rasgos de magia encantadora, mostrar-se-a nas entrelinhas que a vida quiser escrever... mesmo so !!!
